Summer Construction 2017

Things are heating up at Noci Sonoma, and I don't just mean the weather.

We are gearing up for major construction over the next several months. Major visual changes can finally happen, now that the rains have seemed to stop.  We are all very excited and want to focus and finally officially open this year.

Because of all the building projects, we have decided to go into a semi-closed phase for now.  What does that mean?  It means we won't be accepting any new members and we won't be opening the farm stand on the weekends.

For our current founding members, the only big change is that we will no longer be harvesting for the farm stand.   We will have eggs in the back as usual, but each member will be responsible for harvesting for themselves.  The good news is that you can now come out Tuesday - Saturday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.  (Our farmers hours).  You will not have to wait for a weekend.  We will be closed on Sundays and Mondays until we re-open officially.

As for the gardens, well it is time to focus.  We will be planting all the permanent crops that will visually transform the gardens. All the grass/clover pathways, the blackberry walls, the artichokes, and trees.

Another big change is that we are no longer accepting new members.  Instead, we will have an application form on the site, and new members can apply for a spot once we open.  We will send out an email about this change once it goes live on the site.

This is going to be a good year.  The retail buildings are already going up and next on the list are the natural pools.  Thank you for hanging in there with us.  It has been a long road, but the end is near.

Here is a brief list of what we are working on:

  • Two Retail Buildings at the front of the farm
  • Chicken Bird Barn
  • Breeding Room
  • Garden Storage
  • 400 ft Black Pool
  • Building Pad for the main buildings
  • Root Cellar
  • Wood Shop
  • Glass Greenhouse
  • Forest Garden / Meadow in the front and around the black fence
  • Blackberry walls in all gardens
  • Grape Trellis in central garden
  • Shade Tree Planting
  • Clover Pathways
